Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the website to elect Amaad I. Rivera as Ward 6 Springfield City Councilor. It is with great excitement that I am running for office in the great city of Springfield.
As a lifelong resident, I believe that the residents of Forest Park and Springfield deserve an elected official who understands how to overcome tough challenges and find opportunities for positive change, something I have been doing my entire life.
With increased rates of economic inequality, poverty, crime, and deteriorating public services, we need a new form of politics and a new type of elected official. We need elected officials who have innovative ideas, who practice inclusive politics and, who are willing to work with the community to address its issues.
My life experiences, from overcoming homelessness to advocating for more than a decade on the national, state and local level has taught me that the toughest obstacles can be overcome by working together as a community to bring about positive, long lasting change. Take a look at organizations who are endorsing this campaign.
As your City Councilor, we can build a stronger Springfield by “Putting People First.”
Sincerely,
Amaad I. Rivera
