NEW POLITICS ENDORSES AMAAD RIVERS FOR STATE SENATE IN MASS. HAMPDEN SENATE DISTRICT

BOSTON, Mass. – New Politics, the national organization that recruits and supports national service leaders and military veterans for elected office, today endorsed Amaad Rivera in his campaign for state senate in Massachusetts’ Hampden Senate District. An AmeriCorps, alumnus, former Springfield City Councilor, and staff member for U.S. Senator Ed Markey, Rivera is part of New Politics’ first round of national endorsements at the state legislative level.

“Amaad Rivera has dedicated his life to serving Springfield and the commonwealth, and we’re proud to endorse his campaign,” said Emily Cherniack, Executive Director and Founder of New Politics. “From AmeriCorps and the City Council to the U.S. Senate, Amaad has never stopped giving back to the community and country that has given him so much. In the State House, he’ll be a tireless advocate for the community and the kind of fearless problem solver our politics so badly needs. He’s building a movement for change in Springfield and we’re thrilled to be on his team.”

New Politics was founded in 2013 and works to transform our politics by helping promising military veterans and national service alumni run for public office. The group plans to endorse about 20 congressional and statewide candidates and 30 downballot candidates this election cycle.
